Who we are

Rise Sober CIC, company number 17475541, is responsible for the Rise Sober website and app. You can contact us about privacy at Jay@RiseSober.co.uk.

Information you choose to give us

If you contact Rise Sober by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media, or submit optional app feedback, we receive the information you choose to share through that service. Please share only what is needed.

Recovery and health information can be especially sensitive. We do not ask people to send detailed medical or recovery histories through public contact routes.

The Rise Sober app

The app works without an account. Routine progress, gratitude entries, reflections, meeting records, trusted contacts and recovery settings are stored on your device by default. Clearing app or browser data may remove that local copy.

You may optionally create an email/password account and verify your email to enable private backup and continue on another device. When you do, your email address, user ID and selected recovery information are processed using Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not stored in the Rise Sober app database. Access rules restrict each signed-in user to records stored under their own user ID.

Account and data deletion

You can delete your account and associated cloud recovery information inside the app. You can also use the account-deletion page. For identifiable feedback or other privacy requests, email Jay@RiseSober.co.uk.

App analytics and feedback

The app may record limited section or action counts to help us understand use and improve the service. These counts are not used for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps. Optional feedback may include a category, message and name if you choose to provide one.

Hosting and essential technical information

Our hosting and cloud service providers may process limited technical information, such as an IP address, browser or device information, authentication information and security logs, to deliver and protect the service. We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal information.

Other services

Links to Zoom, WhatsApp, Ko-fi, social networks, YouTube and other recovery organisations take you to services controlled by those organisations. Their privacy notices apply when you use them.

How we use and keep information

We use information to provide app features and private backup, manage accounts, answer enquiries, provide meeting information, protect the service and improve Rise Sober. We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what personal information Rise Sober holds about you, request a correction or ask us to delete information where applicable. Email Jay@RiseSober.co.uk. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

We will update this notice when the website or app collects or uses information in a different way.
